NEW Fisher Price DC SUPER FRIENDS Imaginext BATMOBILE TOY CAR & Batman Action Figure

Our good friend “Batmobile Billy” sent us a photo of this brand-new toy he saw at a retail store the other night. He’s always on the hunt for cool Batman Batmobile Toys & spotted this new variation of the DC SUPER FRIENDS BATMOBILE CAR with Batman Figure made by Fisher Price, as a part of their “Imaginext” series. This one sort of looks a little bit like the car seen in the 1989 Batman movie, kinda-sorta! It also comes with 3 industrial barrels of “Joker Chemical Waste” ( I love the Joker Logo on the top of them, funny! ). The photo showing the toy on the store shelf is Billy’s picture he snapped of the actual product & the other 2 are from the FP website. I like this car a lot & I’m gonna have to get one later, it’s pretty cool! Thanks Billy for sending the pic. If any other Bat-Blog Readers ( that includes YOU! ) spot any brand-new Batman Toys or Merchandise out there then please let us know so we can share the info, thanks!

Bernie’s Amazing BATMAN TOYS AND MEMORABILIA Collection!

When I started the Bat-Blog I always knew that the main focus would be about collecting the cool Batman toys & memorabilia. It’s also a place for stories about weird happenings, movie news, information about the TV cartoon, what’s going on in the comic books, etc… but really we’re mostly about the joys of being a bat-collector! So, I was really happy to receive in my e-mail box all these super-excellent photos the other day from a reader named Bernie! He’s been collecting a ton of great bat-items over the years & his collection is a really nice mixture of both brand-new & vintage, with a little bootleg stuff mixed in. I also like how everything is displayed so well. It’s all so neat & organized. Bernie needs to come over to my house & do some arranging for me, ha ha! But all kidding aside he has an extremely excellent collection & I appreciate the time he took for the pictures, they’re very cool! If any other Bat-Blog Readers have a nice display ( or an ugly one ) then please send us some pics. Our e-mail button is ALWAYS on the top right-hand side of this page. Thanks again, Bernie!

VINTAGE BATMAN TOY COLLECTION PHOTOS: Magazine Article From Japan!

In the year 2000 ( I love the sound of that, it’s like a movie trailer voice-over for an old sci-fi film, ha ha! ) a company in Japan published a magazine that featured the collection of a Major Batman Toy Collector. The cool thing was that it was a total mix-up of many vintage items & then a few more “modern day” pieces. It’s just a great reference guide for many extremely RARE Japanese Toys from the 60’s & even some cool stuff from the Warner Bros Store, mostly Batman: The Animated Series. When I look at it I see a lot of toys I have, a few things I know about & want, and then even some items that I have never EVER seen before…a great variety! Be sure to click on the photos here for larger versions where you can see all the great Batman Memorabilia in better detail. I swear, you will be drooling for days!!

Vintage BATMAN TOYS & COLLECTIBLES Eye-Candy!

The main focus of the Bat-Blog is really about the joys of Collecting Batman Toys. So I thought it would be a good idea to get back to that, ha ha! Up above are some photos of a few really RARE pieces of Bat-Merchandise! The 1st item is from the 1970’s & is one of the weirdest Batman Products I have ever seen. It’s an unopened package of SILLY-SACKS Wastebasket Liners. Yes, Trash Bags! The company that made these printed DC Comics Superhero Characters on white trash bags, ha ha! I guess it tricked a lot of kids to take out the trash? But overall I think these are pretty cool just on the rarity scale! The next picture is guaranteed to make Vintage Bubble Gum Card Collectors totally drool. This is the original Retail-Display Box for the 1966 Batman TV Series Trading Cards made by Topps. This was a later series where all the cards had color photos of the actors instead of painted illustrations…nice! Now, the last photo is sort of weird but when you think about it, it’s a really cool toy! This is a BATMAN Inflatable Swimming Pool Toy that was made by Ideal in the 1960’s. It’s so cool that it is still in the original package with the header card & everything! OK, I hope you have enjoyed some of these & if YOU have any photos of special Batman Toys that you would like to share then please send them in today. Our e-mail button is always at the top right-hand side of this page!

DC Direct’s MAD Magazine JUST-US LEAGUE OF STUPID HEROES Action Figures

In early April of 2012, if the Mayan Calendar Theory doesn’t kick-in & we’re all still alive, then DC Direct has plans to release a brand-new set of Action Figures called “JUST-US LEAGUE OF STUPID HEROES”. They will feature ALFRED E. NEUMAN, the Mascot for MAD Magazine, as a different member of the Justice League of America: Superman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Robin, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Arrow, and even The Joker. I was a HUGE Fan of MAD Magazine when I was a little kid & totally love these new toys! I gotta say that one of the JOKER is my favorite. Alfred E. Neuman just seems so appropriate for that character, Ha Ha!

This post is a shout-out to a Friend of ours who has been doing an excellent job on a new Batman Toy Collector Blog called “Batman Extreme”! But wait, there is plenty of eye-candy to enjoy plus, he does some posts in English. Also, it’s really not that hard to figure out how to navigate the site.

One tip, at the bottom of all his posts there is a “Pagination Area” where you click the numbers “2, 3, 4, etc…” Just click those and you can enjoy the whole site. There is some neat stuff like Tin Toys ( Robots and Batmobile cars ). Plus, a lot of new merchandise. It looks like he might focus on “THE DARK KNIGHT RISES” Movie Action Figures a little bit too. It’s fun, just click HERE!

David’s BATMAN and SUPERMAN MEGO BENDY Adventure!

Here’s a wonderful vintage 70’s family photo sent in by our good friend David. It shows him & his friend John Paul playing in the swimming pool with some of those Mego Bend & Flex Figures. Basically they were “bendy toys” of popular DC Comics superheroes ( they made MARVEL ones too ). I have a few of these in my collection. They’re really hard to find in MINT shape. Mostly because, back in the 1970’s, little kids played with them in the water ( Hey David, ha ha! ). If you would like more information about these toys, plus see some great pics, be sure to check out this article at the YESTERVILLE TOY ROOM website, just click HERE!

IT’S NOT A DOLL, IT’S AN ACTION FIGURE! Art Gallery Show

There’s a pretty cool art show event-thing going on at the BEAR & BIRD BOUTIQUE + GALLERY in Lauderhill, Florida that a lot of Bat-Blog readers might like to see. In fact, the show ends on July 31st so, you have until the end of this month to see it. It has a “Love of Vintage Toys” theme & a few pieces are even Batman-related. Basically, it’s a group show with many artists contributing artwork & photography that is inspired by cherished toys from their childhood. They all pay homage to different action figure toy lines: You have Mego’s Batman, Kenner’s Star Wars, Mattel’s He-Man Master of The Universe, Lego Characters, & much much more! A lot of the artwork is really amazing! Here in this post we feature the 2 Batman-inspired ones. The 1st one was done by the curator of the show & it’s actually an original comic book ad for the Magnetic Batman figure by Mego, framed. She also displays the actual figure right above it…cool! The next one is an acrylic painting of a Batman String Puppet flopping around. It was masterfully done by Lora Zombie. There are too many artists & pieces of art to mention here but the flyer ( last photo ) shows all of their names. Plus, at the end of this post is a really really great video of the Art Gallery Installation & you can see all the artwork very well. For more information be sure to visit BEARANDBIRD.COM plus, if you would like to see all the art in sharp detail, be sure to visit their online Flickr gallery by clicking HERE!
