Thank you, Japan, for giving us something to do with all our old hair scrunchies. Someone decided to put a scrunchie on an action figure and now we have the latest meme from Japan to entertain us for the next week. It doesn’t matter how badass the action figure, once you put a tutu on it there’s nothing but cute. Even Predator and Alien look downright huggable in all that frilliness.
See more badass cuties after the break…
In the year 2000 ( I love the sound of that, it’s like a movie trailer voice-over for an old sci-fi film, ha ha! ) a company in Japan published a magazine that featured the collection of a Major Batman Toy Collector. The cool thing was that it was a total mix-up of many vintage items & then a few more “modern day” pieces. It’s just a great reference guide for many extremely RARE Japanese Toys from the 60’s & even some cool stuff from the Warner Bros Store, mostly Batman: The Animated Series. When I look at it I see a lot of toys I have, a few things I know about & want, and then even some items that I have never EVER seen before…a great variety! Be sure to click on the photos here for larger versions where you can see all the great Batman Memorabilia in better detail. I swear, you will be drooling for days!!

Alright! It’s “Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday” again here at the Bat-Blog & this week we have some really really weird stuff. Now most of you know our Batman Wallpapers are usually breathtaking, plus elegant & tasteful, ha ha! Well, they still are this time but they’re also kinda strange. The 1st one is using Japanese graphics from a Vintage 1960’s “Batman Toy Briefcase”. It was a bootleg item from Japan & that explains the unusual coloring. But it’s a great part of Bat-history so there you go! the next image is from a future DC Comics Batman comic book showing the “Return of Bruce Wayne”. Well, sort of. You see, when “Bruce Wayne Batman” was killed by Darkseid awhile back he wasn’t really killed but sent back in time. He awakes much later & his mind is confused plus he doesn’t quite know where he is or what his name is ( something like that ) &, the kicker, he still becomes “Batman” anyway! Oh yeah, he becomes the Dark Knight in the “Caveman Days”, ha ha! But don’t laugh. I think this is gonna be an extremely cool storyline ( or at least let’s hope so ). The artwork here is done by Andy Kubert & it’s totally totally incredible. Now, don’t forget, the large wallpapers are for your computer desktop & the small ones are formatted to fit the screen of an Apple iPod Touch or iPhone…enjoy!

This post is a shout-out to a Friend of ours who has been doing an excellent job on a new Batman Toy Collector Blog called “Batman Extreme”! Now, he’s a Major Batman Fan and he shares a bunch of cool stuff! At the end of this post I’ll share a LINK to it but I gotta warn ya, his site is mostly done in Japanese! But wait, there is plenty of eye-candy to enjoy plus, he does some posts in English. Also, it’s really not that hard to figure out how to navigate the site.
One tip, at the bottom of all his posts there is a “Pagination Area” where you click the numbers “2, 3, 4, etc…” Just click those and you can enjoy the whole site. There is some neat stuff like Tin Toys ( Robots and Batmobile cars ). Plus, a lot of new merchandise. It looks like he might focus on “THE DARK KNIGHT RISES” Movie Action Figures a little bit too. It’s fun, just click HERE!

This image up above comes from DC Comic’s website & shows the extremely cool art direction for a future episode of “Batman: The Brave and The Bold”. The main guest for that day will be Bat-Mite & the thing that’s gonna happen is that Bat-Mite is going to pop Batman into multiple dimensions where he will be totally different in each one. The photo above shows Batman & Robin in a “Vintage MAD Magazine” type world. In fact, the characters there are called “Batboy & Rubin”, ha ha! This episode is also going to have a segment where the Dynamic Duo are in the Vintage Japanese BAT-MANGA World! The art style in the animation will totally look like the graphics drawn by Jiro Kuwata in the 1960’s. This image down below is from Chip Kidd’s recent BAT-MANGA Book & shows what the art could kind of look like ( we don’t have an actual image yet from the TV show ). Now, this episode looks like it’s going to be totally great so please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because you know we’re going to be all over it, ha!

Here are some brand-new Batman Toys for Collectors to keep an eye out for. From the Takara Tomy EnterMedia company in Japan we get these two 12″ BATMAN and The JOKER Action Figures, Vintage Version. I think what they mean by “Vintage Version” is that these figures look like they’re from the 1980’s ( or earlier ) because Batman is wearing his classic blue-gray-yellow outfit ( My favorite ).As a side note, before you totally fall in love with these new figures please keep in mind that they are going to be very very expensive.

Shown here is a video clip of “Batman in Japan” Stand Up Comedy at The Pink Cow, Tokyo, Japan, March 5th, 2011.
I have really been thinking about Japan the last few days & worrying a lot. Since childhood I have always loved that special place & I have always wanted to go there. Seeing all the news footage on CNN lately has been sort of heart breaking. But it is very impressive how well the Japanese are handling everything. I know they have been hit hard & hopefully things will get better soon. In the mean time they do need some help. Food & clean water is getting hard to find right now. So, if any other Bat-Blog Fans out there can, please donate to the American Red Cross. Every little bit helps. Here’s a link to their Official website, just visit http://www.redcross.org
According to a blog named TOKYO FASHION it seems that BATMAN Themed T-Shirts are now all the rage in Japan, that’s awesome! They recently did a post that features many cute Japanese Girls wearing the DARK KNIGHT Gear. Here’s a link to check them out, just click HERE!
In âThe Stop of Evangelionâ, the 3rd Rei acted since the main driver behind 3 rd Impact, which has been initiated following she merged with Lilith. In the course of Third Influence, a perfect figure associated with Rei was revealed for a few support frames looking along at Katsuragi Misato as well as Akagi Ritsuko moments prior to they passed away. These spectral pictures also seemed over the corpses with the slain Nerv personnel.

She’s probably one of the booth girls at Comiket 2010 who isn’t really cosplaying any character in particular, but you have to admit, she’s got a really great smile. And she’s so cute that I can’t help but feature her on Cosplay Holic.
Anyone have any idea what company she’s representing at least? Thanks again to Tamia for suggesting this!
