Neon Genesis Evangelion: Soryu Asuka Langley 02

Born and raised in Germany, Soryu Asuka Langley is said to be a half-Japanese, half-German girl, but her nationality is technically American. She is considered to be a child prodigy, earning a University degree when she is still a teenager and easily becoming fluent in Japanese. She is European in appearance thanks to her father’s lineage.

Comiket sure has a lot of great cosplayers. Cosplay Holic reader Mikan gave me a link to Moeyo showing a vast collection of different cosplayers she thought I might like to feature. This Asuka is definitely quite amazing. Thanks Mikan! And thanks to Moeyo for the awesome photography!

Touhou Project: Izayoi Sakuya

There’s always a fair amount of French Maid cosplays in Anime Conventions that I find it hard trying to keep up with all of them.

She looks like she’s cosplaying a specific character with the details she put into her hair and the straps on her leg. I’m wondering if that clip on her apron was also done on purpose. Compared to the other French maid cosplayer I feature a while back, I think she’ll be easier to guess.

Any takers?

Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru… 5.5?

I know what you’re thinking, and no, I’m not kidding.

You have to admit, this is a pretty accurate cosplay of Sesshoumaru. Maybe he looks a bit friendlier than the real Sesshoumaru, but hey, he had to be trained somehow.

Bleach: Kusajishi Yachiru

A young infant Zaraki Kenpachi found in the 79th District of Rukongai’s North Alley, “Kusajishi”, Yachiru is a cheerful, carefree girl who often clings to Kenpachi’s back for transport. She is child-like in both appearance and action, but is also very strong, earning the right to be the lieutenant of the 11th Division. Her name is said to be in memory of the only person Kenpachi ever admired.

Cute cosplay! She’s so adorable, just like Yachiru. I sometimes wonder which one is cuter, her or Nell? Anyway, great cosplaying!

Birdy the Mighty: Birdy Cephon Altera

It wouldn’t be a long shot to say I have no idea where this character is from. Frankly, she could be from a Marvel Superhero Comic, and that still wouldn’t narrow things down.

The outfit looks really difficult to move in though, with the side open like that. Private, professional, photo shoot probably?

Vampire Knight: Kurenai Maria and Yuki Cross

A distant relative of Hio Shizuka, Maria acted as her vessel when she infiltrated Cross Academy. Once there, she told Yuki she had the secret to keep Zero from falling into level E, and in order to gain that secret, she must do one of two things: sacrifice herself, or kill Kuran Kaname.

You can probably guess what Yuki chooses in this photo. Both of them have really well-made dresses too, but didn’t Yuki give that rose on her choker to Zero? Great work still! Thank you for uploading this!

Witchblade: Amaha Masane and Shiori Tsuzuki

Sisters Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfiao represented Team Philippines in the recent Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2009 held in Suntec Convention Center, Singapore. The sisters performed a short skit in their Witchblade cosplay with Alodia as Amaha Masane and Ashley as Shiori Tsuzuki.

BioShock: Big Daddy and Little Sister

Graphic Artist, Harrison Krix and his fianc e, Emily had a private photoshoot in the Georgia Aquarium showcasing Harrison’s latest work, Big Daddy from the BioShock game.

This is a real costume with real LED lights, and Harrison is currently selling it on eBay, open for bidding until December 3, 2009.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion: Kururgi Suzaku 03

Even though Suzaku does not have any powers like Lelouch does, he has very good hand-eye coordination and has extensive military training in both firearms and hand-to-hand combat. He is also incredibly strong, as he is able to carry Lelouch and Shirley on his own with one arm.

Before Britannia invaded Japan, Suzaku was trained by Tohdoh Kyoshiro, the head of the Black Knight’s military operations. As such, Suzaku is gifted in martial arts and kendo, and spent most of his time training to become stronger.

Really beautiful cosplay! I love the overall look and white really does suit Suzaku very much. The sword was very well-crafted too. Great work! Thanks to Recarrie for sharing this!

Kin’iro no Corda: Yunoki Azuma 02

A third year student who is considered to be the school “prince”, Azuma is well-known for his good looks, perfect grades, and charming personality. He is from a well-brought family of traditional Kado background and is well acquainted with traditional Japanese customs like ikebana, tea ceremonies, and traditional gardening. He is the thrird son of the family and is restricted from outshining his brothers, which forced him to give up the piano when he was young and took up the flute instead.

He kind of reminds me of Kyouya from Ouran because of his background story. I found this from All About COSPLAY, the Otaku University Philippines Cosplay Research. Thanks for sharing this!
