Riddle me this, Batman! The following pictures were sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader ( Thanks Adam ) who is trying to find out what country these special “Tormis Cookies” were made. Anybody know? Sadly I had to tell him I have never seen these before ( they are pretty cool though ). The Tormis Pastry Cookie Company had a promotional tie-in with the recent “The Dark Knight” Batman movie & even had special POGS you could collect. SDCC 2009 EXCLUSIVE MATTEL HOT WHEELS The Dark Knight Movie Tumbler Batmobile and Batpod Set ( San Diego Comic Con ’09 )

OK, If you’re planning to go to the 2009 San Diego Comic Con be sure to hit the Mattel Booth for an EXCLUSIVE Hot Wheels THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Tumbler Batmobile and Bat-Pod Motorcycle Set! They have been keeping it pretty top secret but a reader named Tony sent us this amazing photo. Basically it’s a Window-Boxed Set of 2 vehicles from the Dark Knight film. The way the vehicles are displayed inside the dox it looks like the Bat-Cycle is bursting out of the Tumbler batmobile Car…SWEET! I have also heard they will be the 1:50 Scale size…AWESOME! As we get more SDCC ’09 information we’ll have better pics later, so stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for more info! ( Thank You Tony, You ROCK, Sir! )

A few days ago we posted a video clip that was a scene from the Batman Bootleg-Film Spoof ( Filipino Parody ) titled ALYAS: BATMAN ES ROBIN & people went crazy for it! So today I thought I would post the movie trailer for this wacky piece of unauthorized Batman History! It’s a completely wacky-crazy movie from the Philippines that all serious Bat-Fans totally love!

THE 1966 BAT-BOAT!! Batman Vehicle – Desktop Wallpaper Background

I thought this image would make an extremely cool Desktop Wallpaper! So, please be sure to check it out. It’s the Classic Bat-Boat from the 1966 Batman Movie & TV Series. Here’s what Wikipedia had to say about it:

“The first appearance of the BAT-BOAT was in the 1966 film BATMAN. It was subsequently used in the 1960’s BATMAN TV Series.
It was created by Glastron Industries.

Mel Whitley and Robert Hammond designed the Batboat from a Glastron V-174. They added a red flashing beacon, glowing eyes, batzooka hatches, seats for both Batman and Robin at the front of the boat, twin wind screens, a center console, an outdrive jet cover, and an aft to deck cover with a glowing Bat-Signal on the tail fin. Although the boat was powered by a Merc Cruiser Chevrolet V-6 and Attwood Corporation manufactured the hardwire, a water squirter and a jet nozzle were added to make the Batboat look like it was nuclear-powered. It took 31 days to build.

Eventually, a replica was built of the Batboat. When the Batman television show was cancelled, Glastron used the two Batboats for promotions on tours. After much touring, the boats were sold. One boat went to a Glastron dealer who was a Shriner. He used it in various Shriner parades. This Batboat was then moved to the Car Stars museum in Gatlinburg, Tennesee.”

Vintage Halloween Photo: BATMAN AND THE JOKER Terrorize Gotham City!

Here’s an awesome Vintage Family Photo from around 1989 ( or early 90’s maybe? ) showing our friend Steven & his brother dressed-up for Halloween as Batman & The Joker! Now, Steven wore the Joker outfit while his brother got to don the Batman mask. I totally love the facial expressions on both kids. They are really super-excited & you can tell that they mean business! Little Batman’s “Fight Pose” is priceless! Since Halloween is right around the corner I’m asking all Bat-Blog Readers right now to send us your Halloween memories. We’re looking for older photos ( or new ones ) that have people wearing Batman-related costumes. Even if it’s just you wearing a mask! Thanks. BATMAN VIDEO: The Dark Knight vs Blade Movie Trailer (Christian Bale vs Wesley Snipes)

Here’s a nice mash-up parody video combining scenes from both The Dark Knight and the Blade movies with Christian Bale & Wesley Snipes. I gotta admit that the editing job on this is very decent. As both a Batman & Blade Vampire Fan it’s just kinda cool, & even pretty funny, check it out!

Kevin is HARVEY DENT / TWO-FACE From The Dark Knight Batman Movie!

Alright, these photos were really fun to receive because for the 1st time I got to see what my friend Kevin looks like ( I’ve known him on the Internet for awhile but have never met him ) and I got to see his amazing Batman-themed Halloween Costume! He chose to be Harvey Dent / Two-Face & his make-up plus costume are totally awesome! I mean, extremely well done. He really looks like he has been burned. His business suit is perfect on one side & damaged on the other. Plus, the “Vote For Harvey Dent” Political Campaign Button is a nice touch…he even has a 2-sided Coin! Thank you Kevin for sending us these great pics. You should be very proud of your costume & I bet it will be a SMASH-HIT at any Halloween Party! I’m not dressing-up this year & I’m totally jealous, ha ha!

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Ad Banners in Taipei City!

WOW! Last week I met a Batman Fan all the way from Egypt & now one from Taiwan…how cool is that? Last night I got a very nice email from a new friend named Jerry who lives there. He wrote to say how much he loved the Bat-Blog ( I never get tired of hearing that, ha ha! ) & he sent these wonderful photos he took awhile back in Taipei City. As you can see, THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie was a very big deal there. In fact, they posted these HUGE mural-size billboards advertising the film. I totally love that! Taipei City is a great place I would like to visit. For awhile it had the tallest building in the world until when Dubai recently completed their latest skyscraper & stole the title. But regardless, it’s one of the world’s greatest cities & a very beautiful place. I want to thank Jerry for sending these fun pics & also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Readers to do the same.
