The 89 year old comic book legend, Stan Lee, has ominously dropped out of future appearances for the near future. Bleeding Cool is reporting that Wizard World released a statement this weekend that Lee’s upcoming appearances at Ohio Comic Con and Authors! Authors! at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library have been canceled.
According to Lee’s agent the reasoning behind the cancellation is due to a “a very serious circumstance” according to the Toledo Blade.
Earlier this year Lee had also canceled an appearance at the Hero Complex Film Festival, claiming fatigue. More recently Lee has maintained his usual incredibly busy schedule with appearances at Dragon*Con, Baltimore Comic-Con, and Stan Lee’s Comikaze just this past weekend. That, on top of the regular heavy workload he maintains between various TV, movie, and comic projects.
Whatever the reason behind ‘The Man’ having to pull out last minute on these appearances, I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we hope ‘very serious‘ is nothing too serious and we look forward to seeing and hearing from him again soon.
