Electronic Arts, who are responsible for the production of the Mass Effect game series has released a new Mass Effect 2 trailer, this time showcasing the PS3 version of this sequel to the original blockbuster.
Scheduled for January 18th 2011 release in North America and January 21st for the United Kingdon, the PlayStation 3 edition will include the full Mass Effect 2 game and the previously released DLC missions: Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Kasumi.
In addition to shipping on Blu-ray discs next week, the gameis also coming to Sony’s PlayStation Network for download straight to your Playstation. Nice!
This release is no ordinary ‘port’ however. Word on the street is that the Play Station ME2 version has been reconstructed to take advantage of the PS’s graphic capabilities and what not. In other words, it should look awesome.
Further, just in case PS gamers have not played the original Mass Effect game, the new release includes an interactive in-game comic that allows players new to the franchise to experience Mass Effect 1 while making the story choices that have repercussions in Mass Effect 2. The Mass Effect production team, working with the comic loving dudes at Dark Horse Comics has designed this so players can come quickly up to speed with the events of Mass Effect 2. As far as I’m aware this is a very novel idea!
