Gotham City Sirens # 1 Variant Cover Art For First Issue of New Batman Comic Book

DC Comics is about to release a brand-new Batman-related comic book titled GOTHAM CITY SIRENS. It’s main characters will be Catwoman, Poison Ivy, & Harley Quinn. It will be written by Paul Dini & a lot of fans are really excited about that! Now, for the First # 1 Issue there will be two covers. The regular cover will be done by the book’s main artist, Guillem March. The “Variant Cover” will be by JG Jones. Look for these at your favorite comic book shop on June 24th, 2009 ( Click on the above photos for larger graphics ).

BATMAN TATTOO ART PHOTOS: Catwoman, The Joker, Riddler, Penguin, & More!

Last night I got an e-mail from a friend named Wes. It looks like he has been pretty busy getting more tattoo work done! In fact he’s got an entire “arm sleeve” of work done. He sent us some really great photos showing the new work & it’s totally amazing art! Just check out the pictures if ya don’t believe me, ha ha! ( Click on them for larger images with more detail ). He now has Catwoman, The Joker, The Penguin, & The Riddler! Previously he had Batman & The Scarecrow. Dang! Wes, these are seriously awesome & very well done. I love the coloring & the clean sharpness…they’re GREAT! Thank you for taking the time to take these photos, I appreciate that. Also, please let the tattoo artist know that we here at the Bat-Blog think that he ( or she ) is a true art master! I guess I’ll shut-up now & just let the photos speak for themselves, ha ha! THE THREE FACES OF THE 60’s CATWOMAN ( 1966 Batman TV Show ) Magazine Article

A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named Fred Grandinetti, just wrote an article for the “Movie Collector’s World” Magazine website. He did a piece in issue #734, August 2009 ) on the “The Three faces of The 60’s Catwoman” from the 1966 Batman TV Series. Of course we all know them as Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, & Eartha Kitt. It’s a very interesting read & at the end of this post we have a link to it. Also, if you’re really into Vintage Movie Posters you might check out a few other features at the site. BATMAN FANS Know How To Party in Brisbane, Australia!!

Awhile back, here at the Bat-Blog, we featured a photo of an awesome BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Custom Bat-Suit Costume made by our friend Paul. He lives in Australia. Well, recently he & a few of his friends went to a convention event in Brisbane, all dressed-up in Batman related Costumes! We have all the major characters covered: Batman, Robin, Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Two-Face, Commissioner James “Jim” Gordon, The Riddler, & one other character who’s name I forget at this moment ( Sorry, is it Anarchy? ). The great thing was they were able to get a few really wonderful photos during this time ( Please be sure to click on these pics for larger, more detailed, versions ). Now if I got the info correct, this 1st photo ( close-up shot ) was taken on the 2nd day & a couple of people changed costumes. But the other 2 pics were shot on the 1st day when they were really goofing around! The shot of them all walking towards you. That is a parody of the opening credits sequence of the JUSTICE LEAGUE cartoon ( imagine them in slow motion, ha ha ). The next one is a really famous parody that everyone should recognize right away. It’s The Beatles ABBEY ROAD Album Cover!! OK, I really love all these costume pics but the homage to The Beatles just totally cracks me up! Ha Ha Ha, it’s so GREAT! I wanna thank Paul for sharing these fun photos with my readers. Thanks Paul, everybody is gonna totally love these. I also wanna send a shout-out to all of your friends who got dressed up…you guys all look great & your costumes are awesome too…even the girl who’s character I can’t remember the name of because I’m totally stupid, ha ha! Oh man, I wish I had some of these for Halloween this year!

BATMAN RETURNS Batman & Catwoman Costumes By Zack!

This is our friend Zack with his lovely Girlfriend. Of course he is Batman (1992 BATMAN RETURNS “Michael Keaton” movie version ) & she is perfect as the Catwoman. Zack told me that even though he built his costume himself, with items he found from different locations, he did custom-build the chest piece for this bat-suit. OK, I gotta say that both costumes look really really great & I don’t mean any disrespect here but, Dude, your Girlfriend is totally HOT! But all kidding aside, I guarentee that both of you will be a total hit at any party you go to…HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ( Zack – Thanks for sending the wonderful pics )

Catwoman Cos Play Costumes

Catwoman. She’s as famous as Wonder Woman but wears more black leather. The original and most widely known Catwoman, Selina Kyle, first appears in Batman #1 as an uncommon burglar with a taste for high-stake thefts. A popular love interest for Batman, the modern Catwoman is seen as an antihero rather than a supervillain.

Michelle Phiffer’s Catwoman

Catwoman has been famously played by several hot Hollywood actresses including Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt whereas Michelle Phiffer famously breathed a new sexy life into the cat in Batman Returns.

A Halle Berry film version was a giant box office flop, but there’s no doubt the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight Rises will be a huge sucess and Anne Hathway as the newest Catwoman will get carried along for the ride.

So given the renown Catwoman has within the DC Comic history, the Batman TV show and in later years the range of hit and miss films, it’s no surprise that lots of lasses love to cos play as Catwoman. New 2011 BATMAN HALLMARK Christmas Ornament Sneak Peek – 1966 Batmobile Car & More!!

Over at the awesome CAPTAIN TOY website they have some wonderful photos of all the 2011 Christmas Keepsake Ornaments that Hallmark Cards plan to release next year. The main one that most Batman Fans are going to be really excited about is the 1966 TV Show Batmobile Car designed by George Barris!! They will also be making ones of Catwoman ( modern version ), Harley Quinn with Hammer, & a Silver-Age Batman! If you visit the site they also show all the others & there are some really great ones!
