Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. ABOVE: Cosplayer extraordinaire Jessica Nigri was spotted at Montreal Comic Con dressed as Mad Moxxie. It’s maddening how naturally gorgeous this girl is. “Insert your tip”… oh, sometimes these deviant dressed cosplayers make it all too easy. [GeeksAreSexy]

Robin hot pants. I really hope that’s a girl modeling these off, other wise there’s nothing really all that wonderful about “The Boy Wonder”. [FashionablyGeek]

Man has 19 surgeries, totaling $7,000(USD), to look like Superman. Seems like a lot of money and effort to pursue truth, justice and the virginian way. [Technabob]

How much would it cost to live in a pineapple under the sea? Oh lawd, the lengths real estate agents will go to promote their business, via a cartoon based infographic, reeks of desperation. [unique daily]

If Breaking Bad was a cartoon series. This reminds me of SNL’s Cartoon Tv Funhouse. Maybe next, we could get a Stark vs. House Lannister on Family Feud. [TVOvermind]

JJ Abrams is set to direct Episode VII, Screen Junkies pulled together a panel to find out what needs to happen for the best Star Wars film. How to make it good? KEEP LUCAS AWAY FROM IT! [Screen Junkies]

Cookie monster spoofs Hollywood. You’ll have to let me know if this was funny. I’m on a wheat/sugar free diet and Cookie monsters does nothing but make me crave cookies. I had to remove myself from the temptation by not watching. [TheMarySue]

50 things a geek should know. Hey now, I think of myself well acute to all forms of nerdy, but I clearly have some gaps of knowledge. What the hell is the PSU paper clip trick or who is the patron St. of computers? What is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything? I feel like some nerd demerits are in order. [Virtualhosting.com]

Russian Mortal Kombat Shawarma master. If this guy gives you onions when you asked for “no onions”, I would suggest you STFU and back away slowly. You gonna question that giant sword? [Geekologie]

This is just a small part of the awesomeness that this show brings every episode. Here we have a Meth Head / Meth Dealer and his unwritten Star Trek Script animated by Matt Czap. [GAS]

‘Star Wars: Episode II’ Gets the Belated Media Re-Imagination Treatment

maxresdefault

Last year Belated Media took a crack at fixing the problems as they saw them in George LucasStar Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Now they’re back with a look at how those changes would have rippled through and effected Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

The first treatment took Jar-Jar Binks out of the Star Wars equation right off the bat, watch the video to see what other characters might get the axe, or perhaps gain even greater roles in Belated Media’s re-imagining of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, then let us know what you think in the comments section below.

For Your Viewing Pleasure: 1990′s ‘TMNT’ Movie Alternate Ending

This is a real blast from the past for most of you out there. What kid in the 90 s didn’t love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? They had outrageous tag lines, rap laden music, and ate a crap load of pizza; everything your parents would shake their head at and wonder what the hell was happening with today’s youth.

Now that you’re all grown up you might appreciate this alternate ending that much more. It’s a nice nod to the origin of the TMNT franchise that all started back in Eastman and Laird’s fantastic comic book. If you’ve never read those, it’s well worth the cost of a trade paperback to pick up the original black and white pages.

Man, this movie doesn’t age well phonetically, I cringed at just about every tag line those turtles threw out there. Imagine the looks you would get today if you tried those lines on your nieces, nephews, or your own children. It would be akin to wearing black socks with sandals when you take them to the beach.

Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Patton Oswalt’s ‘Parks & Recreation’ ‘Star Wars VII’ Filibuster Rant Gets Animated

pattonoswalt-parksandrec

It was only a matter of time until Patton Oswalt‘s off the cuff Star Wars VII Filibuster rant speech from TV’s Parks and Recreation got mixed, dubbed, or animated; maybe all three at once. It was an amazing single take of on-the-spot-improvisational television. Daniel Spellman took on the task of animating Patton’s brilliance for the Nerdist, and dammit, he did a damn fine job. Take a look at the video below and then let us know what you think or your favorite part in the comments section below.

Next up for Barbie, a career as the first human explorer on Mars! I love the idea as I’m for anything that’ll excite young girls about science, but I’m concerned about the ability of that space suit to actually keep Barbie alive. No gloves, for instance, that’s a problem. [The Mary Sue]

Dean Cain and Brandon Routh Welcome Sam Daly to the Secret Superman Actor’s Club

routh-cain-daly-Superman

Many great actors (and Tom Welling) have donned the red, blue and, yellow tights of the Man of Steel. Recently Sam Daly followed in his father’s (Tim Daly) footsteps as the voice of Superman in the direct to DVD/Blu-Ray animated film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, but you probably knew that already.

Ya… but bet you didn’t know that there is a secret group of Superman actors? Didn’t think so. The most recent episode of the Daly Show reveals the secret initiation ritual of The League Of Superman, as Sam is inducted by a couple of guys you should recognize.

I am going to assume that shortly after this Henry Cavil showed up, resulting in the tree house on Andrea Romano‘s yard being nothing more than a smoldering crater.

Vader Finds the Next Best Thing to the Lava Pits on Mustafar

vadervalley

The gentleman above in the garb of everyone’s favorite cyborg Sith Lord is Jonathan Rice, and frankly, we find his lack of common sense disturbing….

(Be warned-this report is strong with the schtick)

Mr. Rice apparently enjoys an activity known as “heat running”-and it’s exactly what it sounds like. I like to believe heat running was invented by the cosmos itself as a means of counterbalancing those “polar bear” wackos who cut holes in frozen lakes in the dead of winter and see how long they can swim before they die of hypothermia.

This year, Rice ran a full mile in six minutes, 36 seconds through Death Freakin’ Valley while wearing that costume. The temperature topped out at a clinically insane 129 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not that the Dark Lord of Heatstroke is unaware of the dangers of his hobby-as he himself said.

This is a ludicrously dangerous endeavor. I don’t support you doing it. I don’t even really support me doing it.

Maybe not, but this is the internet-and we will NEVER cease supporting crazy people doing stupidly dangerous things.

Watch Jonathan Rice give himself to the Dark Side of Fitness in the video clip below.
