Batman Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday….on Thursday!

OK, I know that today is Thursday & on Wednesday I always post “Batman Themed Desktop background Wallpapers”. But I’ve been having a little trouble lately getting back on track. So, better late than never! Here are 3 Wallpaper Backgrounds that are sure to jazz-up any PC desktop. The 1st one uses some promo art that was done in the 1980′s by Paul Gulacy, it’s pretty cool. Plus, he’s a total bat-fan favorite. Speaking of “promo”, the next one uses some art that was found in an old comic book & was made to advertise the BATMAN RETURNS Video Game. It’s got Catwoman, The Penguin, & even his famous Duck-mobile vehicle….awesome! The last one is more modern day. it’s an image from the DC Universe Film BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD. Of course, it’s the Joker….looking pretty twisted ( as usual ). Please be sure to look in the far-left column of this blog where you can find the Bat-Blog Archives. There, you’ll see hundreds of other Bat-Wallpapers we have posted in the past…have fun!

Tiniest Bit of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Footage Leaks – WATCH NOW!

wolverine

My understanding is what we’ve got here is the same footage as what was screened in Hall H for FOX’s panel at SDCC, at least part of it. This very short clip, which appeared on YouTube earlier today only to be promptly pulled by FOX’s lawyers, then later uploaded to a more dubious video hosting site, is the very beginning of the footage screened at Comic Con.

Give the blurry, bald head of Charles Xavier a click in order to view the footage. Do it now! Before it’s taken down again! [Note: only click play, don't bother installing whatever crap they try and trick you into.]

blurryxavier

If you couldn’t make out the dialogue here’s a transcript,

Ian McKellen‘s Magneto: What’s the last thing you remember?

Patrick Stewart‘s Xavier: I had a glimpse into the past. (To Wolverine) You will have to do for me what I once did for you.

McKellen’s Magneto: You’ll need me as well… side-by-side to end this war… before it ever begins.

And cut, end of footage. There’s more to it, and it’s the entirety of the clip those at Comic Con and those at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, where this bootleg comes from, had the fortune to see.

What we can glean from this measly 40 seconds is quite a bit, though. We see Rogue (Anna Paquin), Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) – now with beard! That’s how we know time’s past, guys. And of course, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. There’s the X-Mansion, upstairs and downstairs, and Cerebro. More exciting though, are the quick looks at Omar Sy as Bishop, Adan Canto as Sunspot, and Booboo Stewart as Warpath.

What else were you able to spot?

Where the footage goes from here has already been recapped repeatedly since Comic Con ended, but for a refresher here’s Screen Rant’s take.

Thanks to @pittsed_off for the tip to a working video!

Latest ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Rumor, is Bryan Cranston Warner Bros’ Pick for Lex Luthor?

cranston_freeze

Ever since the announcement Warner Bros. is working on Batman vs. Superman as their Man of Steel follow-up there have been rumors a-plenty about who’s going to play Batman; but what of the villain? With David S. Goyer’s screenplay in no way finalized we won’t know for sure who the big bad is, but the name everyone’s thinking? Lex Luthor.

Lexcorp was an easter egg splattered all over Man of Steel, basically cementing the bald, business savvy nemesis of Superman would appear sooner than later. And now there’s already a rumor floating around about who’ll play him: Bryan Cranston. All stemming from a supposed scoop scored by Latino Review’s El Mayimbe, check out these teasing tweets,

Actor for Lex is so painfully obvious/on the nose, u wouldn’t believe me even if I told you. Hell, I don’t believe it myself. Take a guess?

- elmayimbe (@elmayimbe) August 8, 2013

FANBOY BLIND ITEM: Which superhot actor finishing final season of hit TV show who also was in 2 films for WB is up for juicy badguy part?

:)

- elmayimbe (@elmayimbe) August 8, 2013

FINAL CLUE FOR Y’ALL FANBOY KNUCKLEHEADS WHO CAN’T TAKE A HINT: This actor played a bad guy (embarrassed that he did) on the POWER RANGERS.

- elmayimbe (@elmayimbe) August 8, 2013

See how it all connects so beautifully? Breaking Bad is about to enter its final season and perhaps Cranston isn’t quite tired of that bald look just yet. And yeah, this all only rumor, but how AMAZING would this be if it comes true?

Oh! And if you were wondering about that Power Rangers clue, Cranston has indeed admitted to voicing Power Rangers’ villains in the past.

But as for the rumor Cranston is our next Luthor, we can only wait and see.

Chloe Moretz Calls Out Jim Carrey on Those ‘Kick-Ass 2′ is Too Violent Comments

hitgirl

About a month and a half ago Jim Carrey shocked us all with some stirring comments about his disapproval of the excessive violence in Kick-Ass 2. A movie he’s in and one in where he participates in quite a bit of said violence. It was shocking only because, one, anyone’s who read the comics or seen the first Kick-Ass would say, “No duh, the over-the-top violence is sort of its schtick,” and two, how did Carrey not come to this conclusion earlier? Like when he was filming.

I can forgive him the change of heart, but slamming the film both you and your fellow co-stars and crew worked so very hard on, that’s kind of low. And apparently, Chloe Moretz kind of thinks so, too. She recently responded to Carrey’s comments with a few of her own,

It’s a movie. If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn’t go to see Pocahontas because you are going to think you are a Disney princess.

If you are that easily swayed, you might see ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ and think you are a serial killer. It’s a movie and it’s fake, and I’ve known that since I was a kid … I don’t want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do.

It’s that same old argument of violence in the media being what spurs real life acts of violence. And it’s bullshit. I mean, hell, you want to talk about excessive violence? Check out out Kick-Ass 2, the comic, after seeing the movie and you’ll see what was considered too brutal for the screen. I wonder what Carrey’s comments would have been were the now infamous, though removed from the film, scenes of rape and extreme animal cruelty still included? Author Mark Millar is a twisted individual, but I don’t believe anyone who’d consider acting on truly evil impulses needs a comic, movie, or video game to inspire them.

Moretz did add, “Each their own,” in response to Carrey’s comments, so hopefully there is no ill will between the co-stars.

What are your thoughts of violence in the movies? Is the violence of Kick-Ass too extreme? Isn’t it only a movie, and therefor, easily distinguishable from real life?

Hugh Grant the Latest to Cry ‘U.N.C.L.E.’

Hugh-Grant

For as long as I can remember voraciously following the latest movie news, going back to the old days of reading them in print magazines even, there’s always been hints and rumors about a movie version of the classic 60s spy series, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. It was getting so that one might think we’d never see an U.N.C.L.E. movie, or at the very least won’t see it until long after everyone remembers seeing it on TV were dead.

But cynicism loses this round because it seems that The Man From U.N.C.L.E. will be starting production on time next month, and they’ve added a new member to the supporting cast today as a result. Who is it? Why it’s the charmingly befuddled Hugh Grant, who The Hollywood Reporter says is playing the head of British Naval Intelligence.

Grant will join Henry Cavill as Napoleon Solo and Armie Hammer as Illya Kullyakin as the two main agents from the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.), who are sworn to protect the world from the schemes of the villainous THRUSH. Swedish actress Alicia Vikander and The Great Gatsby‘s Elizabeth Debicki are also attached. The film will be directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes).

Grant himself had been taking a break from films until recently, most notably playing six parts in the Tom Tykwer and the Wachowskis film Cloud Atlas, he also recently completed work on a romantic comedy for Marc Lawrence co-starring Marisa Tomei, J.K. Simmons, and Chris Elliott.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. should (finally) be in theaters sometime next year.

‘Iron Man 3′ Deleted Scene: More of the Mandarin

1791425

Overall I enjoyed Shane Black‘s Iron Man 3, overall… until the big reveal about Ben Kingsley‘s character the Mandarin. If you haven’t seen Iron Man 3 yet and don’t want to know more, then for pete’s sake stop reading and go figure out why you haven’t seen this movie yet. Seriously, you should get whatever stopped you from going to the theater straightened out before it prevents you from seeing Avengers 2, on the big screen.

OK, now that we’ve left those spoiler cry babies behind, let’s get to the meat of this deleted scene. My biggest pet peeve in Iron Man 3 was what we find out about the Mandarin’s true identity. I felt it was a waste of Kingley’s talents, I wanted him to go toe to toe with Robert Downey Jr. What we got was a Weekend at Bernie‘s version. I wanted the rings and all that high and mighty Mandarin arrogance.

So, I guess I feel a little better getting that off my chest, so watch the deleted clip below and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Iron Man 3, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray September 24th and will also be available for digital download three weeks earlier on September 3rd for those that can’t wait it comes with these additional special features:

-Deconstructing The Scene: Attack On Air Force One: Jump into action with the stunt-team skydivers in this close-up look at creating one of the movie’s most memorable scenes.
-Exclusive Behind-The-Scenes Look – Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World: Experience the spectacular new worlds, unforgettable characters, and pulse-pounding thrills of the upcoming blockbuster movie.
-Marvel’s Iron Man 3 Unmasked: Join cast and crew for a crash course in epic movie-making, Marvel style.
-Gag Reel
-Deleted & Extended Scenes
-Audio Commentary with Drew Pearce & Shane Black

‘Star Wars: Episode II’ Gets the Belated Media Re-Imagination Treatment

maxresdefault

Last year Belated Media took a crack at fixing the problems as they saw them in George LucasStar Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Now they’re back with a look at how those changes would have rippled through and effected Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

The first treatment took Jar-Jar Binks out of the Star Wars equation right off the bat, watch the video to see what other characters might get the axe, or perhaps gain even greater roles in Belated Media’s re-imagining of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, then let us know what you think in the comments section below.

For Your Viewing Pleasure: 1990′s ‘TMNT’ Movie Alternate Ending

This is a real blast from the past for most of you out there. What kid in the 90 s didn’t love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? They had outrageous tag lines, rap laden music, and ate a crap load of pizza; everything your parents would shake their head at and wonder what the hell was happening with today’s youth.

Now that you’re all grown up you might appreciate this alternate ending that much more. It’s a nice nod to the origin of the TMNT franchise that all started back in Eastman and Laird’s fantastic comic book. If you’ve never read those, it’s well worth the cost of a trade paperback to pick up the original black and white pages.

Man, this movie doesn’t age well phonetically, I cringed at just about every tag line those turtles threw out there. Imagine the looks you would get today if you tried those lines on your nieces, nephews, or your own children. It would be akin to wearing black socks with sandals when you take them to the beach.

Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
