BastardCast-41-FebruMurray-3-art

Subscribe on iTunes Listen on Stitcher Subscribe via RSS Download

This time on The Bastardcast: Jeremy and Jason try to keep it together as they discuss meteoroids, asteroids, zombies, and other world enders like Warner Brothers’ development slate and the Dan Harmonless Community. Also, Jeremy and Jason nerd out on all the Toy Fair 2013 news and then fight about A Good Day to Die Hard.

Following that, Jeremy swings low on latest member of the X-Men First Class: Days of Future Past cast, Jason goes off the deep end when Jeremy mocks Han Solo, and they both think the that reports about the demise of the video game industry are premature and full of poop.

Yes, it’s the kind of high brow episode where our fearless hosts let you know that an actor’s artistic worth is determined by how many times he shows peen on the screen. In fact, that’s this week’s special happy fun hashtag, #PeenOnTheScreen.

All that and more #FebruMurray fun as we continue to celebrate noted kickball striker Bill Murray.

Warner Bros. May Have Thrown Out Its ‘Justice League’ Script Due To General Terribleness

Marvel Studios made doing a superhero team-up movie seem easy, but as Warner Bros. is finding out, it really, really isn’t.

We’ve already heard Warners is starting to get cold feet and are waiting on the success Man of Steel before moving ahead, and now there’s word they’ve thrown out their current Justice League script because, well, it’s really bad. Reportedly the trashed script featured Darkseid as the big bad guy and was a bit of a shambles due to superheroes being inserted and removed from it constantly (sexy). Oh, and it was written by Will Beall, the guy behind Gangster Squad (32% on RottenTomatoes).

What’s that I hear? Is it the sound of a money dump truck backing up to Christopher Nolan’s front door?

New DC Comics BATMAN FAMILY Car Window Decals

OK, we have all seen those annoying “stick figure family” stickers on mini-vans and thought they were pretty lame, ha ha! Well, here are some new ones from DC Comics that are kinda cool! Yes, here are some brand-new white die-cut vinyl-sticker decals that you can put on the back windshield of your car, truck or van.

They made ones of Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Catwoman, The Joker and Harley Quinn. I’m actually going to buy one ( either Batman or Batgirl ) to put on the side of my computer tower. You know, because I’m super cool! ( My Mom said I was ).

Whoops, I should also note that they added some new ones that I found out about very last minute while actually doing this post. They are: Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and The Flash. Oh yeah, while the other stickers shown today all have a retro-style artwork, these last six I mention here are modern “New 52″ versions.

This Flash Sweater Might Make You Run Faster

If Barry Allen had a choice, he’d probably go for this Flash sweater instead of the spandex outfit. It’s more comfortable and it will keep you warm. It might not be made from the proper molecules to withstand high speeds, but most of us don’t have to worry about that problem.

BATMAN-THEMED CAR – 2013 Kia Optima SX Limited Unveiled

Kia Motors just announced the first car, of eight Justice League vehicles that they are creating with comic book publisher DC Comics (DC Entertainment), will be the “BATMAN” Car!

The Korean Batmobile gets a custom front grille shaped like a bat wing.

The exterior will be painted in a mix of matte and piano black paint, and also comes with a coil-over kit, body kit, exhaust system and 20-inch blacked-out wheels with Batman center caps.

Other crazy detailing includes yellow
under-body lighting and a Bat-Signal etched into the HID headlights.
The interior gets black leather-and-suede upholstery with yellow accent stitching, a center console with “utility throwing stars” as well
as a Bat suit for crime-fighting purposes in the trunk.

Kia and DC Entertainment will release customization packages based on other Justice League members in the next few months. Some of the featured superheroes are Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg, and Kia says the Soul, Sorento, Sportage, Rio and Forte will be some of the other cars used for future projects.

David’s BATMAN MIGHTY MUGGS Custom Figures

Take a look at these ultra-fun Custom BATMAN Mighty Muggs Figures created by an Artist named David Krawczyk. He recently submitted these to the BAT-BLOG.COM with the explanation that he will be making more characters. That’s great news because these examples are very cool! Here are Catwoman, The Joker ( Green Lantern Corp outfit ) and Two-Face… excellent!

Now, for the few people who don’t know, “Mighty Muggs” are toys made by Hasbro and, for certain legal reasons, they will NEVER make any DC Comics’ Superheroes. So, Fans of the BATMAN usually have to create their own customs. The basic reason is that Mattel has that license and Hasbro does Marvel ( They also do the Transformers, G.I.Joe, and Star Wars ).

Thanks David, great job on these!!

The Bastardcast vs. Mark Millar And The Alien Hookers

Jason and Jeremy discus Jason’s lightsaber problem and then talk about feeling… something. Also, eBay enters the theater of social networking with a collector twist, someone casts a resurrection spell on MySpace, bacon is disappearing at an alarming level, and there is Ghostbusters 3 news to be infuriated by. Also, we have more than a confirmed nod from Patrick Stewart about X-Men: Days of Future Past and the guys ooh, ahh, and oy at the Toys R’ Us top 15 toys of 2012 list.

Then in the MAIN EVENT: Jason and Jeremy debate the value of Mark Millar becoming the kaiser of Fox’ Marvel film slate and ponder if he is being brought in to enhance their films or just stand out as a nerd mascot.

Speaking of the art of debate, the guys have a new segment called VERSUS where they quickly scuffle over the important questions of our time. This week: Ninja’s VERSUS Jedi. The best part? You decide the winner!
