Just the other day I got an email from a Bat-Blog Reader asking me about a Batman Promo Glass he found at a Garage Sale. He sent a photo of it and as soon as I saw it I knew what it was. I mean, I totally remembered these from my childhood in the 70′s. It’s a glass from the 1976 DC Comics Superhero Pepsi Series. If I remember right, they were a promotion at Burger King, the Fast Food Restaurant ( or was it Arby’s? ). But either way here’s a photo that shows the complete set of 6 glasses ( Click on the pic for a larger sharper version ). OK Rob, you now need to find Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Shazam, and the Flash!

Warner Bros & Pentax have teamed-up to release a special DC SUPER HEROES Digital Camera around the time of the release of the Green Lantern Movie. Pentax is gonna sell a “DC COMICS Collector Pack” for their Optio RS1500 Digital Camera. Basically, it comes with seven different skins you can change on the front ( 3 of them are “Batman-related” ). The characters will include: Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Batman, Joker, and Catwoman! I really like the fact that they’re using older comic book art…nice!

Shown here, for your viewing pleasure, are 3 cool foreign Batman Comic Books. The 1st one is Arabic, the 2nd is Italian, & the 3rd is English ( but from the UK ). All of these are vintage comics & not modern-day. So, I’m curious. Does anyone out there live outside the USA where there are “foreign language” bat-books currently being published? If so, then please let us know. Also, if you have some photos of what they look like then that would be great too, thanks!
At Otakon 2013, we took a few moments to talk to cosplayer Bethany Maddock about the amount of time and detail she put into her Killer Frost costume that was based specifically from the DC Comics’ and NetherRealm’s video game INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us. If you want to see more of her cosplays, you can find them on her Facebook page here!

Hey Comic Book Collectors! Tomorrow, on Wednesday, August 3rd, be sure to keep an eye out for the latest DC Comics’ RETROACTIVE 1980′s BATMAN title. This all-new criminal mystery is written by Mike W. Barr with art by Jerry Bingham. It also features another Reaper story (the start of the BATMAN: YEAR TWO storyline) by Mike W. Barr, Alan Davis, and Paul Neary, that was originally published in the 1980′s. For a FREE PREVIEW of the 1st few pages, click HERE!
This week, on Wednesday (2 days ago ), the latest “RETROACTIVE BATMAN, The 1990s” Comic Book came out. I have not read it yet but the cover was done by Norm Breyfogle so you know it’s gotta be good, ha! It’s nice to see him back drawing Batman, even if it’s only for this one-shot comic. The story line involves the Ventriloquist and Scarface. Two characters Norm Breyfogle helped make famous back in the day. There’s a brand new story & then they reprint a classic from the 90′s. What a cool concept! DC Comics should do this more often. In the last few weeks they have also released book like these that celebrate the 70′s & 80′s. They were pretty popular so I see this one doing well also. It should still be in stores now, hopefully, so go grab yours today!
Many Green Arrow fans who’ve been watching the CW‘s Arrow closely have also been wondering if the character Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) would eventually evolve into her comic book alter ego, the Black Canary. It would make sense, considering the name and the relationship both share with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), but apparently the show runners have other plans.
The Wrap is reporting that, although the Black Canary will be appearing in Season 2 of Arrow, Laurel Lance won’t become the Black Canary. This will be the Golden Age Black Canary, Dinah Drake, played by Caity Lotz (The Pact, Bring it On: All of Nothing). She’ll be introduced into the cast slowly, developing into a series regular and an additional romantic interest for Oliver Queen.
Will the Black Canary have her trademark sonic scream powers? Although the series has stayed away from true “Super Powers” so far, I imagine that some technology might make the Black Canary’s super power scream a reality in the CW Arrow Universe.
I can’t wait to see what other heroes and villains will make an appearance on the series, and there’s always the possibility that when enough of those heroes show up on the show, we might get some form of the Justice League. We can only hope.
