You don’t have to be familiar with a character to recognize a fantastic costume. This is Porrim Maryam of the text based adventure game MS Paint Adventures (it could very well be the longest running comic on the internet). I love this cosplayer’s interpretation of the character who mostly only exists in shaky pixels.

I don’t know who decided that superhero costume hoodies were in this year, but I’m glad it’s happened. I was a little jealous because kids had so many options, but now there are tons of designs available for adults. Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Superman, Iron Man – you can dress up like many of your favorite characters on a daily basis and all you have to do is zip up a sweatshirt. Brilliant.

As a huge fan of A Christmas Story, I think the idea of a leg lamp costume is fantastic, but there’s no way I could pull it off as well as paralympian Josh Sundquist. He takes advantage of having one leg by turning himself into the lamp, complete with lights, fishnet stockings and a black high heel shoe. The lights were initially an LED light panel, but they wouldn’t hold in place when he walked, so he used a set of white Christmas lights pinned to his shirt instead.

Everyone’s making skimpy superhero costumes these days, and Frederick’s is no exception. They have one piece polyester/spandex versions of Wonder Woman and a couple others that almost look like bathing suits. I actually like the overall design, but I wouldn’t buy them without checking out the quality in person first.
