If the magnificence of cosplay at Dragon Con hasn’t sunk in just yet, maybe this picture will help you understand. An area at the back of one of the hotels serves as an ideal spot for any large cosplay groups to convene. Different groups schedule meet-ups and crowd in for an impressive photo like this one. Where else would you see a huge number of Mass Effect cosplayers in one place like this? Pam Marotte took the photo, and I bet she had to stand way back to capture the 50 or so cosplayers on the steps.

It’s a wonderful thing when a cosplayer bears a resemblance to the character he or she is dressing as, but it’s not common for the likeness to be this freaking close. This cosplayer spotted at Dragon Con looks a lot like James Doohan and makes a perfect Montgomery Scott. He’s definitely played to his strengths, and it appears that he’s taken the time to add all the little touches. I hope he embraced it and spoke with Scotty’s familiar Scottish accent.

The tattoo and comic book worlds come together perfectly in this cosplay featuring Alyssa Anne. She makes the butt-kicking heroine even more badass, but what she does when she’s not busy channeling her inner superhero is even more amazing. In addition to modeling, Alyssa is a materials scientist. She’s got the brains and the beauty!

Designed by Williams Studio 2, this is the perfect accessory for the Batman cosplayer who’s looking to emulate Adam West in the 1966 television show.
This is an accurate replica of the Cowl Adam West wore during the 1966 Batman T.V. show. It is the only available cowl still being made from the original fabric which has been custom dyed to match a color sample from the dye house used on the show. The pattern was created by a professional pattern maker using a original cowl (from the Hardeman collection) The lightweight fiberglass shell was created using a plaster cast taken from an original as a base. Even the eyebrow paint color has been Pantone matched to the original.
It’s so good that Adam West even owns one!

Awhile back, here at the Bat-Blog, we featured a photo of an awesome BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Custom Bat-Suit Costume made by our friend Paul. He lives in Australia. Well, recently he & a few of his friends went to a convention event in Brisbane, all dressed-up in Batman related Costumes! We have all the major characters covered: Batman, Robin, Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Two-Face, Commissioner James “Jim” Gordon, The Riddler, & one other character who’s name I forget at this moment ( Sorry, is it Anarchy? ). The great thing was they were able to get a few really wonderful photos during this time ( Please be sure to click on these pics for larger, more detailed, versions ). Now if I got the info correct, this 1st photo ( close-up shot ) was taken on the 2nd day & a couple of people changed costumes. But the other 2 pics were shot on the 1st day when they were really goofing around! The shot of them all walking towards you. That is a parody of the opening credits sequence of the JUSTICE LEAGUE cartoon ( imagine them in slow motion, ha ha ). The next one is a really famous parody that everyone should recognize right away. It’s The Beatles ABBEY ROAD Album Cover!! OK, I really love all these costume pics but the homage to The Beatles just totally cracks me up! Ha Ha Ha, it’s so GREAT! I wanna thank Paul for sharing these fun photos with my readers. Thanks Paul, everybody is gonna totally love these. I also wanna send a shout-out to all of your friends who got dressed up…you guys all look great & your costumes are awesome too…even the girl who’s character I can’t remember the name of because I’m totally stupid, ha ha! Oh man, I wish I had some of these for Halloween this year!

Here’s an awesome Vintage Family Photo from around 1989 ( or early 90’s maybe? ) showing our friend Steven & his brother dressed-up for Halloween as Batman & The Joker! Now, Steven wore the Joker outfit while his brother got to don the Batman mask. I totally love the facial expressions on both kids. They are really super-excited & you can tell that they mean business! Little Batman’s “Fight Pose” is priceless! Since Halloween is right around the corner I’m asking all Bat-Blog Readers right now to send us your Halloween memories. We’re looking for older photos ( or new ones ) that have people wearing Batman-related costumes. Even if it’s just you wearing a mask! Thanks. Oh yeah, and a special thanks to Steven for sending this wonderful photo, it’s very mush appreciated!

“YOU WILL KNOW FEAR!” The Bat-Blog has a friend over at MySpace who created a Halloween Costume of The SCARECROW that is pretty amazing! I think it’s meant to be the Batman comic book version but it also looks a lot like the character in The Dark Knight movie too. Either way, it’s pretty GREAT! Now, he wore this last year but recently he upgraded the robe & added a few accessories. My favorite part of the whole thing, of course, is the cool mask he made. It looks really scary!! Thanks Gary for sharing your pics. People are gonna really love it. Hey Readers! Are you getting dressed-up as a Batman character this year or have you been one in the past? Well, if so, then please send us a photo.
Our buddy Kenneth sent us this extremely rare Vintage BBC British Television video showing Neil Innes as Batman doing a Batman-themed comedy skit. Andy Roberts is playing the guitar, dressed as Robin. Now, the name of the show was “Rutland Weekend Television” & was written by Eric Idle. I know everybody would recognize him as one of the main actors in the Monty Python & The Flying Circus TV comedy team …just do a quick search on the Internet & you’ll know who he is! In the mean time, enjoy this super-wacky crazy song called “Boring”. WARNING: You will not be able to get this song out of your head for the rest of the day, ha ha!

Alright, these photos were really fun to receive because for the 1st time I got to see what my friend Kevin looks like ( I’ve known him on the Internet for awhile but have never met him ) and I got to see his amazing Batman-themed Halloween Costume! He chose to be Harvey Dent / Two-Face & his make-up plus costume are totally awesome! I mean, extremely well done. He really looks like he has been burned. His business suit is perfect on one side & damaged on the other. Plus, the “Vote For Harvey Dent” Political Campaign Button is a nice touch…he even has a 2-sided Coin! Thank you Kevin for sending us these great pics. You should be very proud of your costume & I bet it will be a SMASH-HIT at any Halloween Party! I’m not dressing-up this year & I’m totally jealous, ha ha!
This is our friend Zack with his lovely Girlfriend. Of course he is Batman (1992 BATMAN RETURNS “Michael Keaton” movie version ) & she is perfect as the Catwoman. Zack told me that even though he built his costume himself, with items he found from different locations, he did custom-build the chest piece for this bat-suit. OK, I gotta say that both costumes look really really great & I don’t mean any disrespect here but, Dude, your Girlfriend is totally HOT! But all kidding aside, I guarentee that both of you will be a total hit at any party you go to…HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! ( Zack – Thanks for sending the wonderful pics )
